New Hope is a quaint town located just minutes southeast of Huntsville. The community is fully incorporated and maintains a small town atmosphere in a beautiful rural setting, while offering its residents the amenities necessary to modern living.

New Hope was initially incorporated in 1832 under the name of Vienna. On December 15th, 1864, the town was completely burned by the Union Army during the war.  Hard work and determination rebuilt the city from the ground up and the "new" town was incorporated in 1883 as New Hope--taking its name from the New Hope Methodist Church.

Today, New Hope is still a warm and friendly community that has maintained the spirit of hard work and determination of days gone by.  The community is filled with regular folks and "local characters" that have spent their entire lives here, as well as newcomers from far and wide that have become a welcomed part of the town's culture.

Take advantage of New Hope's unique geographical location. The close proximity to the international business community of Huntsville makes it a short commute to work or shop.  Just minutes in the opposite direction, you will find the beauty of Lake Guntersville which boasts world class bass fishing, caving, camping, boating, bird watching, (including Bald Eagles!) and a great place for recreation and relaxation.

New Hope is....
10  miles from the Huntsville City Limit
18  miles from the Huntsville Medical District
15  miles from Redstone Arsenal
9  miles from Guntersville Lake
